Even though most people have a set view on what ADHD means, you may have a surprise knowing that there are more than one type of it. And the most unexpected is ADD, the inattentive type, or Attention Deficit Disorder, which is counter intuitive because it doesn’t present the normal agitated state of an ADHD case.
The only thing that has a common ground with the old fashion ADHD is the inattentiveness specific to this disorder.
This makes ADD much harder to find in children or in adults, as they can camouflage pretty well in the mob, as most people have lazy times.
As mentioned before, people with ADD may be labeled as lazy, inconsistent and daydreamers without even knowing that they suffer from this condition.
ADD is pretty hard to find as there is no certain way to discover it besides analyzing the symptoms.
Usually there need to be at least six symptoms found in a patient to be labeled as bearing ADD.
Here are a few of the ones you should take account for:
- Having a hard time focusing on anything ( so if you can’t focus at work but are attentive while playing games you might not have ADD)
- Can’t really finish any task
- Being a daydreamer consistently
- Difficult to multitask properly ( I know multitasking is a myth but here I am referring to being able to change fast between different activities and maintain focus)
- Being obsessive about collecting stuff
- Having a bad time management
- Taking a really long time to finish tasks
As a cure for ADD hasn’t been found yet you can only resort to stimulant medication, sport and a good nutrition to improve your brain capacity and work flow.
Stimulants like vasopressin, norepinephrine, caffeine and acetylcholine could do wonders for some individuals who respond well to these but keep in mind that they must not be abused.
